Dame Flora Duffy, widely regarded as one of the greatest-ever triathletes, made a record-setting fifth appearance at the Paris Games.
Duffy, who made history at the rescheduled Tokyo Games in 2021 by winning Bermuda’s first-ever Olympic gold, only returned to action a few months before Paris after an 18-month injury layoff, finishing seventh at the World Triathlon Championship Series [WTCS] Yokohama in Japan. She followed up by coming eighth at WTCS Cagliari in Italy.
A gold medal winner at the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham in 2022 and on the Gold Coast, Australia, in 2018, Duffy is unlikely to compete in another Olympics and will focus on longer-distance races.
